So first, the rec. The Servant's Master is a Yuletide fic about Thomas Beckett and Henry II that is fabulously evocative and well-written. Slash, but nothing more than PG-13. Go, go read. (I've discovered, apparently, that RPF only bothers me if the people involved are still alive. Go figure.)

Also, I saw There Will Be Blood today. I'm too lazy to post a full review, but if you want it, ask. I'd say, on the whole, worth seeing, but no need to run to the theater.

Alright, so today was freakishly cold. Single digits cold. And as most of our house is poorly insulated, the windows were covered in frost and condensation. And it inspired me to take pictures. So... here they are.

 Window 03

This was the frost that actually inspired the series of photos. It was over the washing machine, so I noticed it as I was doing laundry. So here are the better results from the resultant photos. All of them are either taken through windows, or of light and shadow coming from a window.

Window Leaves

Blurry Trees

Above the Curtain

Snow Line

(This, boys and girls, is called a snow line. Heh.)

Stained Glass Flower

Garden

Angel

Droplets 02

Rings 01

Rings 02

Rings 03

Amber 02

A Mirror Is a Window 02

Feather Window 02

Barometer

(This, I might add, is a broken barometer/thermometer combo. Pay no attention to the readings. Heh.)

And so, my photographic outing ended for the day.

That frost is so pretty...! Especially on the colored glass.

DITTO. I came to this revelation like... yesterday. And it all makes sense to me now.

Also, that first frost picture is incredible! I've never seen anything like it. I also love the picture of the chainmail against the sun. And the percipitation over the window overlooking the blue sky and tree.

Summarized: All the photos are awesome.

My icon demands to know why you don't have an inexplicably filty and naughty crush on him the same way [livejournal.com profile] tamburlaine does.

I agree about the score. I downloaded it and have been listening to it a lot. Rock!

And I do agree with you about the rest of the movie too. I gave it a B+ overall, because in the arena of modern films, you rarely see films like that and it gets credit for bringing "cinema" back, a la "Taxi Driver".

What lovely photographs! Clearly you are not only surrounded by beauty; you also have an eye for capturing it.

Yeah, I feel the same way about RPF.

My favorites are some of the pretty frost patterns and the picture with the amber colored earrings. Yay photography. ^_^

I first got sucked in by the Lawrence of Arabia fandom--ironically, also by lovely fic which was far more based on the person than the characters. ^_~
